Abstract
Lithium (dimethylamino)dimethylsilanolate (1) is obtained from trimeri c dimethylsiloxane and lithium dimethylamide in quantitative yield. In the crystal 1 is a hexamer [LiOSiMe(2)(NMe(2))](6) with crystallograp ic C-3i (S-6, ($) over bar 3) symmetry. The molecule of 1 consists of a hexagonal prismatic (LiO)(6) core and an N,O-chelating anion.
