Abstract
The waste sludge from a fertilizer factory of Bangladesh has been anal ysed by x-ray fluorescence analysis and electron probe micro-analysis in Bangladesh, Germany and Italy. All these tests confirm that the was te contains approx. 50% by wt of arsenic which is a highly toxic eleme nt. The authority has taken proper steps in disposing the waste.
