Abstract
A Coherent Optical Spread Spectrum technique involving phase modulatio n of a lightwave carrier and self-homodyne detection is proposed. This technique is described theoretically and tested experimentally. A fib re optic Code Division Multiple Access communication system using a ma ster laser source and employing the above spread spectrum technique is proposed.
