Abstract
We report the first spectral and power-law modeling of cooperative lum inescence in an ytterbium-doped optical silica fiber structure enablin g the creation of new saturation effects. We believe that the low-conc entration transfer originates in the ytterbium-oxide molecule itself a nd is consequently due to the inherently oxidizing MCVD process.
