Spectrally resolved measurements of water vapor absorption spectra nea
r 1.4 mu m have been performed with a tunable, distributed-feedback ln
GaAsP diode laser. A lineshape analysis was used to infer the collisio
n-broadening coefficient of 11 rovibrational transitions in the nu(1)
+ nu(3) and 2 nu(I) vibration bands perturbed separately by N-2, O-2,
CO2, and H-2. The temperature dependence of the broadening coefficient
s was determined using a temperature-controlled static cell and a pres
sure-driven shock tube over the range 300-1200 K. The measured coeffic
ients are in good agreement with the previous calculations of Delaye.
Also, agreement is found between prior experimental data, obtained for
the same rotational transitions but different vibration bands, and ou
r results. (C) 1994 Academic Press, Inc.
