A comparative study was made of the mechanical behavior of the differe
nt zones in a welded joint of hypoeutectoid steel, using the uniaxial
tension test supported by other conventional techniques. Applying the
optoelectronic method to recording and analyzing the results of a tens
ion test gives the distribution of the deformations produced in a test
-piece and shows the plastic properties of each zone in one sole exper
iment.
