Abstract
Time-domain light scattering experiments on ps-mu s timescales permit determination of the complex compressibility modulus in liquids and gl asses in the MHz-GKz frequency window. Analysis of mechanical and elec trical modulus spectra for a concentrated aqueous LiCl solution yields results consistent with some predictions of mode-coupling theory: sim ple scaling for alpha-relaxation peaks and property-independent power- law functional forms for the spectra which are independent of the prop erty described. Preliminary data from salol, recorded with an improved experimental system, are also presented.
