We demonstrate that, at low shear rates, the scattering peak in the st
ructure factor of sheared polymer solutions results from the combined
effects of advection and flow-induced concentration fluctuation enhanc
ement. Using time-resolved small angle light scattering, the distance
of the peak from the origin of the reciprocal space is shown to scale
as gamma(1/2), where gamma is the shear rate of the flow.
