An approach to on-line adjustment of the sampling interval of a fuzzy
controller is proposed. If the output of the system is maintained arou
nd the set value, the sampling interval of the measurement is extended
. On the other hand, if the output is far from the desired value, the
interval is shortened automatically. To evaluate the ability of the al
gorithm, this method is applied to the control of blood pressure in ra
ts. The result shows successful performance of the controller, and the
sampling interval is adjusted on-line as expected.
