La. Witt et Nc. Silver, THE EFFECTS OF SOCIAL-RESPONSIBILITY AND SATISFACTION ON EXTRA-ROLE BEHAVIORS, Basic and applied social psychology, 15(3), 1994, pp. 329-338
This study examined the interactive effects of social responsibility a
nd satisfaction with a university on extrarole behaviors among univers
ity students. Findings indicated that university satisfaction was more
strongly related to extrarole behaviors among students who were low r
ather than high in social responsibility. The effect of social respons
ibility on extrarole behaviors decreased as the level of satisfaction
increased. Students satisfied with the university reported higher leve
ls of extrarole behaviors regardless of their level of social responsi
bility. In contrast, among those who were comparatively dissatisfied,
students high in social responsibility reported higher levels of extra
role behaviors than those low in social responsibility.
