Abstract
A brief overview is given on the state of development of intermetallic alloys for high-temperature applications with discussion of problems and prospects. In particular alloys on the basis of the titanium alumi nides Ti3Al and TiAl, the nickel aluminides Ni3Al and NiAl, the iron a luminides Fe3Al and FeAl, chromides and silicides are regarded.
