Abstract
A microwave applicator using a rectangular waveguide with two symmetri cally placed double L septa is proposed for processing dielectric shee t materials. The attenuation caused by the loaded lossy dielectric she et is obtain by the Ritz-Galerkin method combined with perturbation th eory. The results show that a microwave applicator using the proposed structure can process dielectric sheets with a higher loss factor and/ or larger physical dimensions. (C) 1994 John Wiley & Sons, Inc.
