The quantitative parameters of fine space organization of shish-kebabs
in injection moulded PE with average molecular weight 182 x 10(3) and
478 x 10(3) are measured by combining the SAXS and the low-frequency
Raman spectroscopy methods. It was shown that the subsurface layer doe
s not exhibit any qualitative difference as compared with the inner re
gions, but the linear dimensions of both central and side crystallites
, as well as long period, are smaller near the outer border than in th
e bulk. Indirect data pointed out the significant concentration of rot
ational defects in central rods which decreases with an increase of mo
lecular weight.
