Introduction of oxyaromatic compound to PA-6 was found to be associate
d with its distribution in the amorphous regions of semicrystalline po
lymer between two structural forms, which are characterized by differe
nt energy of interaction with polymer matrix. In a wide range of relat
ive humidities, elastic properties of PA-6 containing oxyaromatic comp
ound were shown to be controlled not by the net content of low-molecul
ar-mass component, but by its distribution between two structural form
s. In general case, the above distribution appears to govern the elast
ic properties of the polymer in the region of its relaxation transitio
n from glassy to rubbery state, whatever this state was achieved by in
creasing the concentration of plasticizer (water) or by increasing the
temperature. The experimental evidence obtained was discussed with th
e account for structural heterogeneity of the amorphous regions of sem
icrystalline PA-6.
