Twenty-six cases of Kaposi's sarcoma (KS) were recorded by the New Sou
th Wales Central Cancer Registry between 1972 and 1982, prior to the f
irst AIDS diagnoses in Australia. The overall annual incidence was 0.4
7 per million. Incidence was three times higher in males. The highest
incidence was in people born in the Middle East and in males born in s
outhern and eastern Europe.
