ASSESSMENT OF ANALYTICAL QUALITY IN WATER ANALYSIS BY FLOW-INJECTION METHODS

Flow injection methods offer a simple means for automating water analy sis, and a sizeable number of applications have so far been reported. We evaluated over 200 such applications in terms of accuracy, applicab ility, precision, selectivity, sensitivity, determination range, and s ample throughput. These parameters, which define analytical quality, w ere used to construct graduated scales that were employed to evaluate the real usefulness of the applications. Several conclusions are drawn as regards quality assurance.
