SYNTHESIS AND INVESTIGATION OF LUMINESCENCE OF ZINC-SULFIDE IN PORE VOLUME OF SILICA

Zinc sulfide was synthesized in the pores of silica gel and certain po rous glasses. The luminescence spectra of the preparations are determi ned to a great extent by the silica supports; the spectra indicate che mical and structural nonuniformity of the substances in pores. An assi gnment of the observed band series is suggested with regard to the vol ume and surface states of the systems studied.
