J. Vanaarle et al., CF-252 - NEUTRON MULTIPLICITIES IN CORRELATION WITH FISSION-FRAGMENT MASS AND ENERGY, Nuclear physics. A, 578(1-2), 1994, pp. 77-92
The number of neutrons emitted in the spontaneous fission of Cf-252 ha
s been measured, using a large Gd-doped liquid scintillator tank. A to
tal of 1.7 x 10(7) Cf-252 fission events were assayed, and the correla
tions between the number of neutrons emitted by the fission fragments
and the total kinetic energy (TKE) released in a particular fission ev
ent were investigated. From these correlations, spontaneous-fission pa
rameters were derived and compared to exit-channel predictions given b
y the multi-modal random neck-rupture model of Brosa and co-workers.
