Abstract
Based on S. Freud's tally argumentation validating reactions of the pa tient are defined as a special case of general primary processing eval uations. Validating criteria are developed and explained by certain ex amples. A chain of arguments shows how the tally argument - a term coi ned by A. Gunbaum -, which is important for the survival of psychoanal ysis, can be reinstalled.
