Abstract
Based on the concept of early triangulation, the author explains that the development of active wishes, wants and desires requires a father' s early presence in a girl's life. The author concludes that the class ical model of female development (accenting passivity, gender shift of sexual object choice, feminine masochism and castration complex) is i n reality a specific pathology caused by preoedipal paternal deprivati on.
