Abstract
The 6-fluorocinnolines (2-5) have been synthesised from 3-chloro-4-flu oroaniline and their antibacterial and antifungal activity against two fungi, Aspergillus niger and Candida albicans is evaluated. The compo unds 3-chloro-4-fluoroarylhydrazine(cyano)acetamide (1), 7-chloro-6-fl uoro-4-arylidene cinnoline-3-carboxamide (2), 7-chloro-6-fluoro-4-cinn omoylarylidene cinnoline -3-carboxamides (4a-c) are active against A. niger and 7-chloro-6-fluoro-4-arylidene cinnoline-3-carboxylic acid (3 ), 7-chloro-6-fluoro-4-cinnomoylarylidene cinnoline 3-carboxylic acids (5a-c) are active against C. albicans.
