Abstract
In 1934-1968. when he worked in the USA, Gamow created the Big Bang th eory and disclosed the structure of the genetic code. He also studied nuclear sources of stellar energy. In 1948 onwards, he participated in the construction of the American H-bomb. He wrote more than 20 books on science and popular science.
