Ba. Bovykin et al., THE EFFECT OF RHENIUM COMPLEXES CONTAININ G O-PHENANTROLINE ON THE PROPERTIES OF THE LIPID BILAYER-MEMBRANES, Biologiceskie membrany, 11(4), 1994, pp. 451-455
The effect of complex compounds of rhenium(V): [Re(L) (A) OX2]X (1), L
- Phen, A - Ph3P, X - Cl-; [Re(L)OY3], Y - Br- (II), OH- (III) and (L
H2) [ReOBr5] (IV), on the lipid bilayer membranes (LBM) is studied. It
is shown that compounds I-III generate positive membrane potential di
fference, that which provides evidence for the positive charge of the
adsorbable units. Complex IV displaces the surface potential to the ne
gative side, which is due to adsorbtion of the anion particles. Accord
ing to the degree of influence on the increase of the electric conduct
ivity the LBM complexes may be placed in the following series: III < I
I almost-equal-to I < IV but as to the increase of the capacity the se
ries of efficiency is: I < IV < II < III. The mechanism of interaction
of complex units with LBM, taking into concideration the charge of th
e complex, lipophility and polarity of the ligands has been explained.
