Abstract
The large floating bladderwort (Utricularia inflata Walt.) is reported
for the first time from New York State. Pertinent literature and the
distribution, morphology and cytology of the species are discussed, co
mparing it with closely related U. radiata Small, a taxon with which i
t has been historically confused. Recent discovery of the large bladde
rwort in Massachusetts is noted, suggesting the possibility that its d
istribution range may be expanding northward.
