Abstract
In spite of doubling the frequency of medium replacement, the TPA prod uctivity per unit culture volume in a culture with 6 g/l microcarrier beads was only 1.5 times that with 3 g/l beads. Using a concentrated p roduction medium, the productivity of the production culture with 6 g/ l beads was twice that with 3 g/l microcarrier beads. Doubling the con centration of only the insoluble components in the production medium r aised the productivity of the production culture using cells with 6 g/ l microcarrier beads to just twice that with 3 g/l beads.
