Ms. Wooldridge et al., ARGON BROADENING OF THE R(48), R(50) AND R(52) LINES OF CO2 IN THE (00-DEGREES-1)[-(00-DEGREES-0) BAND, Journal of quantitative spectroscopy & radiative transfer, 57(3), 1997, pp. 425-434
A c.w. narrow-line lead-salt diode laser was used to measure the fully
resolved absorption line shape of the R(50) line of CO2 in the nu(3)
band (00(0)1) <-- (00(0)0) at 2380.72 cm(-1) in shock-heated mixtures
of CO2-Ar. The line strength S (cm(-2) atm(-1)) and collisional-broade
ning coefficient 2 gamma(CO2-Ar) (cm(-1) atm(-1)) were determined from
rapid-scanning experiments conducted over the temperature range 300-1
860 K. Collisional-broadening coefficients for the R(48), R(50) and R(
52) lines were determined from fixed-frequency experiments conducted o
ver the temperature range 300-2290 K. for the assumed form gamma(T)/ga
mma(T-ref) = (T/T-ref)(-n), the exponent n was determined to be 0.61 w
ith gamma(T-ref) = 0.0498 (cm(-1) atm(-1)) (HWHM) and T-ref = 298 K. N
o J(n) dependence to gamma(CO2-Ar) was observed for this limited range
of high-J(n) transitions. (C) 1997 Elsevier Science Ltd.
