State of Development of Alkali Chloride Electrolysis (II). Electrochem
ical Quantities, Economics. The first part of this review article desc
ribed cells, membranes, electrolytes and products of the membrane cell
process. The second part, presented below, deals with cell voltages,
current efficiences and energy consumption, as well as with plant cons
truction and plant conversion with membrane cells. A brief look at the
connection between discussion on chlorine chemistry and the introduct
ion of the membrane cell process concludes this review.
