Abstract
The cytotoxicity of hydrogen peroxide (H2O2) toward Chinese hamster V7 9 cells was assessed with a colony-formation assay. Decylubiquinone, a coenzy me Q homolog, suppressed H2O2-induced cytotoxicity. Almost all the incorporated decylubiquinone was detected as decylubiquinol after incubating the cells for 4h. These results suggest that decylubiquino l reduced in the cells acted as an antioxidant against H2O2-induced ox idative cell injury.
