Dc. Mcgiffin et al., MYCOTIC FALSE ANEURYSM OF THE AORTIC SUTURE LINE AFTER HEART-TRANSPLANTATION, The Journal of heart and lung transplantation, 13(5), 1994, pp. 926-928
Aortic suture line infection caused by Pseudomonas aeruginosa occurred
in a 31-year-old man 2 months after orthotopic heart transplantation.
Incomplete resection of the mycotic aneurysm and replacement of the a
scending aorta with allograft aorta was performed. Subsequently, the i
nfection recurred on the proximal suture line, and reoperation with co
mplete excision of the mycotic aneurysm and allograft replacement of t
he ascending aorta was performed successfully, without recurrence of t
he infection.
