Abstract
A new approach to the construction of associative memory systems in op tics based on delayed four-wave mixing is proposed. The close analogy between the physical properties of this nonlinear optical medium and t he features of learning and recognition in neural-net models with non- instantaneous interconnections is demonstrated.
