Abstract
Two new dopant-related defects which are similar to one another have b een found by ESR in vanadium-doped and molybdenum-doped zinc tungstate single crystals. These defects resemble the V-O(B) centre (an electro n associated with an oxygen vacancy) reported earlier for electron-irr adiated undoped ZnWO4. However, the new centres are significantly modi fied by a perturbing vanadium or molybdenum dopant ion which substitut es for a tungsten cation neighbouring the trapped electron.
