Abstract
We investigate local prediction methods of chaotic time series. In par ticular, we consider three typical methods developed by Farmer and Sid orowich, Linsay and Navone and Ceccatto, We show theoretically that th ey an equivalent to each other although they are derived in different ways. Hence we conclude that they have the same prediction performance .
