Abstract
Calcified deposits of tumoral calcinosis from a 77-year-old Japanese w oman were examined by scanning electron microscopy (SEM) and x-ray dif fraction method. SEM revealed conglomerates of granular calcified mate rials 0.2 to 0.5 mu m in size. X-ray diffraction method revealed the p resence of hydroxyapatie that mas highly crystallized. No other compon ents such as calcium pyrophosphate dehydrate were detected.
