Kinetic features of the carbonylation of nitrobenzene in the presence
of a binary catalyst are studied. These features correspond to a bicyc
lic scheme of the process. A novel functionality criterion is proposed
, which unambiguously determines the type of functional dependence of
the rate of catalytic reaction on the concentrations of reagents and c
atalyst components.
