Abstract
Symptomatic liquefaction and calcification of muscle tissue as a late sequela of compartment syndrome of the lower leg is rare. The literatu re shows a high complication rate involved with simple debridement of these compartments. In our limited experience, complete compartmental debridement and immediate introduction of functional viable muscle may prevent the documented complications of chronic drainage and infectio n.
