Abstract
Among 7264 patients undergoing cardiac catheterization at the Departme nt of Cardiology, University of Lubeck, the incidence and angiographic spectrum of coronary anomalies were evaluated. Coronary anomalies wer e found with a total incidence of 1.2% (92 patients), 66 patients (0.9 %) had anomalies of origin, initial course and distribution and 26 (0. 3%) had coronary fistulae. By clinical and hemodynamic criteria, coron ary anomalies are divided into ''benign'' and ''potentially serious'' forms. Awareness of the incidence, type and hemodynamic significance o f coronary anomalies enables an uneventful coronary angiography and pe rmits proper management.
