Abstract
Enhanced transfer efficiency of spontaneous emission, which is the qua ntum efficiency of the collection of total spontaneously emitted photo ns, has been revealed with asymmetric AlGaAs planar microcavities cont aining single GaAs quantum wells at 40 K. The obtained transfer effici ency is as high as approximately 15%. An effect of photon reabsorption on the transfer efficiency is also discussed. (C) 1994 American Insti tute of Physics.
