Abstract
This study investigated factors related to drinking among undergraduat e males. White students endorsed more positive alcohol expectancies fo r physical/social pleasure, social assertiveness, and tension-reductio n than Black students. Partial support was found for the role of expec tancies as moderators of the relationship between ethnic status and al cohol consumption.
