The evaluation of an experimental intervention intended to make the be
havior of resident advisors more productive when they receive a formal
, oral performance appraisal by a supervisor is described. Twenty-one
resident advisors were randomly assigned to either an intervention gro
up or a control group. The results indicated that the intervention par
ticipants received significantly higher ratings.
