Abstract
The decay of the Lambda-hyperon in the lightest hypemuclei induced by the correlated two-nucleon pair is considered. This mechanism alone is shown to reproduce reasonably well the experimental data on (the rati os of) nonmesonic decay widths and isotopic relations (ratio of neutro n- to proton-induced conversion rates). The obtained results signal th e importance of the Lambda NN --> NNN channel in the nonmesonic decays of light hypernuclei.
