We construct a supersymmetric SO(10) model with the asymptotic relatio
n tan beta similar or equal to m(t)/m(b) automatically arising from it
s structure. The model retains the significant minimal supersymmetric
standard model predictions for sin(2) theta(w) and alpha(s) and contai
ns an automatic Z(2) matter parity. Proton decay through d = 5 operato
rs is sufficiently suppressed, It is remarkable that no global symmetr
ies need to be imposed on the model.
