The reported investigation was dedicated to a new method of producing
oxide powders [1], which includes the hearing and oxidation of a powde
red metal at a temperature above its boiling temperature T-b in an oxi
dizing gaseous medium, a condensation of the vapor attended by the for
mation of particles and a subsequent acceleration of the oxide particl
es to a supersonic velocity in a gas stream and their recovery with a
coolant stream.
