Rg. Rosenfeld et al., RECOMMENDATIONS FOR DIAGNOSIS, TREATMENT, AND MANAGEMENT OF INDIVIDUALS WITH TURNER SYNDROME, The Endocrinologist, 4(5), 1994, pp. 351-358
The objective of this study was to establish the optimum treatment and
overall care recommendations for individuals with Turner syndrome at
all stages of life as an aid to medical professionals working with the
se individuals. The Turner's Syndrome Society of the United States bro
ught together 16 nationally recognized leaders in related, but multidi
sciplinary, research and clinical practice areas. Each participating i
ndividual was assigned a specific area on which to present initial pro
posed recommendations, which were then evaluated in full committee. Su
ggestions and overall discussions were then evaluated in small groups
covering genetics, pediatrics, adult, and psychosocial issues. Each sm
all group then formulated recommendations for the four topics in its a
rea. These were then reviewed by all and coordinated into the followin
g document. The overall recommendations are based on current understan
ding and practice standards; as such, they should be reviewed as new d
evelopments may indicate.
