Abstract
A validated assay for N-acetylcysteine is presented. Possible side com pounds are positively separated from the main compound. The oxidation of samples during the analysis was prevented by a paraffin shelter. A reproducibility of 2% is guaranteed for concentrations of above 1 g/l N-acetylcystein. A higher precision is possible by combining several a nalysis data, because the time needed for a single analysis is only 5 min. It is best to use a calibration function calculated with correcte d peak areas.
