The Monte Carlo code, which has been used previously to simulate the t
ransport of positrons in aluminium and copper, was modified for simula
ting the positron transport in silver, tin, gold and lead with inciden
t positron energies in the range of 159-960 keV. The calculated result
s have been compared with available experimental data and predictions
from other calculations. Usually good agreement is observed except in
