SEARCHING FOR COMPETITIVE PRODUCTS WORLDWIDE - INTERNATIONAL PROCUREMENTS IN FISCAL 1993

Fourteen years have passed since the introduction of NTT's current pro curement procedures. For the first time, NTT's procurements from forei gn companies exceeded the billion dollar mark, reaching US$1.09 billio n in fiscal 1993. Most of the products NTT procured from foreign compa nies were high-tech products such as digital switching equipment, oper ations systems, satellite communications equipment and ATM systems. Ma ny of these products constitute the core of NTT's business operations.
