Abstract
A study has been made of the influence of temperature, the ethylene pr essure, the concentration of Ti(OC4H9)4, the Al(C2H5)3/Ti(OC4H9)4 mola r ratio and the nature of the hydrocarbon radicals R and R' in Ti(OR)4 and AlR3' on the kinetics and selectivity of ethylene dimerization. I t has been established that dimerization is quasi-steady-state in natu re, and selectivity with respect to but-1-ene is up to 98%.
