Abstract
A new method has been developed for the reduction of silica-supported nickel chloride. The rate of reduction depends on the reducing agent ( hydrazine) and alkali concentration, temperature and the order of mixi ng of the reactants. Chalk additions have a promoting effect. A study has been made of the properties of the synthesized catalyst in the dec omposition of hydrazine and the hydrogenation of unsatured hydrocarbon s. The dependence of catalytic activity on the hydrazine/nickel ratio, the nature of the alcohol and temperature has been found.
