Pe. Haers et al., THE BILOBED MYOCUTANEOUS PECTORALIS MAJOR FLAP IN CLOSURE OF COMBINEDINTRAORAL AND EXTRAORAL DEFECTS, International journal of oral and maxillofacial surgery, 23(4), 1994, pp. 214-218
Oral carcinomas may eventually invade the perioral soft tissues. In su
ch cases, tumor resection creates through and through defects. Similar
defects are seen in patients with gunshot wounds. The versatility of
the bilobed myocutaneous pectoralis major flap in closure of these def
ects is emphasized. The results in nine patients treated by this metho
d are discussed.
