Abstract
The reaction between chromium(III) and partially hydrolyzed polyacryla mide (HPAM) has been investigated by UV-visible spectroscopy. We found that the reaction between Cr(III) and HPAM can show a biphasic respon se. Initial rate experiments show saturation kinetics. The influence o f reactant concentrations on the kinetics has been studied, and possib le mechanisms consistent with the experimentally observed kinetic beha vior have been derived.
